Simple Walkthrough on Métro Conquest: US Side

I may not be a skillful player, but I always think and try to come up with working tactics in games, so here are my little thoughts on the infamous Métro conquest on the US side, read it and you may find something useful in this. :)

Game Start

For the U.S side, the first thing you want to do is to check if you are the first wave of your team to spawn. If so then you'd better go all the way straight to flag B, otherwise you'd find a whole Russian team greeting you by the stairways, as B is closer to their spawn.

Ticket Hall

At flag B, the most important thing is to keep your team's formation intact and secure. You don't always go OUT and kill every bad guy, you may get a few kills that way before you go down but at the same time it risks your team 2 things:

1) You're dead means there is one less in number for your team to take the flag
2) The line you're holding is now weakened so enemy may breakthrough

You only do it after certain number of enemies are taken down, so you are not risking the whole team.

It's All About Angle

There are many ways to hold this part of map as long as you're aware of the team's formation and lines. One tip is the "angle" you can cover. Lets look at the pic below:

The red triangles represent the common locations and coverage of Russian defense, the green ones are of Americans. From the green spots you can cover each other much easier.

The strategy on here is usually simple - hold your ground, watch out for each other's back, find the weakest line and push through it, you can switch to next line if the current one is being reinforced by enemy. Sometimes, you don't even have to put up a fight if your team is fast and accurate.

Beware of Rambo players though, they tend to run on their supreme skills, sneak up on your back and blow your ass. In such case, it's more important to hold the line for your team. Just don't rush out to avenge, or think you can Rambo them back...

Another important thing to do is to have some team members sneak up to A, they may success, they may fail, it doesn't matter, as long as it adds more pressure on Russian, you gain more chances to take B.

Hold B First, Attack A Later

Once B is taken, most people would rush for A, as if victory is just an inch away. Well, I'd say yes go for it if you already know the enemy team blows, but NOOOO if you want a ensured victory.

Rushing to A causes losen lines on your teams defense, so it may turn into a disaster, and it's usually too late to do anything about it.

The thing you wanna do is to hold Russians at the bottlenecks - the front, the left, and the right entrance of the Métro, as long as possible. The angle logic still applies here, and will be much appreciated if done well. The enemy would do M320, smoke, snipers, C4, fast guns... anything they can throw at you, so prepare to give them all you got.

Still, don't do anything too risky, like running outside of the building to chase the enemy, and bring your mates into danger as they have to save your ass. And make sure all three entrances are guarded, I mean heavily guarded. Too many times I've seen 99 people defending one side and then terrible things happened...

The Café

When the ticket gap makes you feel safe, it's time for A. (If you are having a hard time defending B then don't even think about it) While Métro is considered biased towards Russian, it's actually favoring US on flag A, as you get so many places to hide, so you should be fine with it.

But unlike when Russian is blocking US spawn, A is much easier for recons to sneak pass. So beware when you see B burns for a while and go back to normal, that's the sign that they are going for C.

Another thing is after you have A captured, you should put quite a lot of pressure on the Russian base. Don't just snipe people out from the café buildings, you should also have some people covering the sidewalks, the hallways, the main road between A & RU base..etc.

Now you should have more clues about what to do then :) Good game and good luck!
